Transaction fee, spread and displayed price

A transaction fee is a separate order fee charged in addition to a buy or sell order. For crypto trading with mygate, this transaction fee is 0%.

The spread is a price component included in the displayed crypto price. At mygate, this spread is up to 1.1% on buy orders and up to 1.1% on sell orders. The displayed price is therefore the relevant price basis before you confirm a crypto order.

Crypto prices move continuously. Check the displayed price before each order and only decide if you understand the risks.

Why there is a spread despite 0% transaction fees

A transaction fee would be a separate fee for executing your order. This mygate transaction fee is 0% for crypto trading. The spread is different: it arises as the difference between buy and sell prices, or from the available prices on connected trading venues.

For crypto assets, this spread is not meaningfully avoidable because crypto assets trade in markets with continuously changing prices, liquidity and quotes. At mygate, the spread is included in the displayed crypto price and is up to 1.1%. It is not charged as a separate additional line item.

What matters before you confirm an order is the price shown in the app: it already includes 0% transaction fees and the spread of up to 1.1% in the displayed price.

What applies in practice?

This overview separates confirmed mygate conditions from the displayed crypto price. Network or third-party fees are not part of this overview if they arise outside the mygate fee logic.

Example calculations for buy, sell and roundtrip

The following examples only show how the maximum 1.1% spread can apply mathematically to buy and sell orders. A roundtrip means buying and later selling the same crypto asset. Price movements between buy and sell are not included.

Order amount Transaction fee Max. spread on buy Max. spread on sell Mathematical max. roundtrip spread
EUR 100 EUR 0 EUR 1.10 EUR 1.10 EUR 2.20
EUR 1,000 EUR 0 EUR 11.00 EUR 11.00 EUR 22.00
EUR 5,000 EUR 0 EUR 55.00 EUR 55.00 EUR 110.00

The spread is included in the displayed crypto price and is not charged as a separate additional line item. The examples use the maximum spread of 1.1%; actual prices and market conditions can change continuously. The examples are not a price forecast and not investment advice.

Why roundtrip costs matter

A public study by the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center and intas.tech on total crypto trading costs analysed 432 roundtrips in January and February 2026 through the mobile apps of nine MiCAR-regulated providers.

The study covered Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Solana, Chainlink and Avalanche with order sizes of EUR 100 and EUR 500. It shows why not only explicit trading fees but also spreads matter for actual trading costs.

mygate was not one of the analysed providers. The study is used here as external context for why mygate explains transaction fees, spread and the roundtrip concept separately.
